Cafe Church This Sunday! 9.30am Sunday 21 July
It’s time for Cafe Church again this Sunday! That means we meet at the earlier time of 9.30am and share breakfast together before sitting down for a discussion about our theme of the day. This week it’s Bible Sunday, so we hope we can get some good ideas flowing over the coffee cups.
As always you’re welcome to bring a plate of something tasty, or else just bring yourself to join in the fellowship. (There’s always more than enough food!)
Looking forward to seeing many of you this Sunday!

July Kids n All: Grandparents’ Day
Heaven Bent Gospel Choir Concert
What a fantastic concert this afternoon! St Aidans was packed, and we all had a real treat in Heaven Bent’s wonderful singing. Intermission of course featured the great afternoon teas that St Aidan’s is known for, and then it was back for another uplifting bracket of songs. Thanks to everyone who was involved in getting this off the ground and making sure all went smoothly on the day!
Don Turns 90!
At communion service last week we had a special cake to mark Don’s latest milestone: 90 years! Don cut the cake and then spoke a few words. There was even a photo board with some photos of Don from when he was a baby up until a recent one taken this past ANZAC Day.
We need your help!
The Heaven Bent Concert is on this Saturday, and we need your help! Could everyone at St Aidans please bring along TWO plates of yummy food to make up the afternoon tea? A few of our usual bakers are away or sick, and St Aidans has a reputation to uphold- we’d hate to disappoint with a stingy afternoon tea!

Come to Quiet- Tuesday 2 July 7pm
On Tuesday is something for the adults; Come to Quiet at 7pm (in Alf’s office). This is our monthly session of contemplative prayer, which includes a short discussion on a reading, a time for fellowship with a cuppa, and of course a period of contemplative prayer. If you have never done contemplative prayer before, we will explain the basics to you before you put it into practice. Contemplative prayer has much in common with meditation. “The root of prayer is interior silence…Deep prayer is the laying aside of thought. It is the opening of mind and heart, body and feelings-our whole being- to God…During the time of prayer we consent to God’s presence and action within…It is designed to deepen our relationship with Christ.” (Quotes from Father Thomas Keating) Take some time out from your busy life and find some time to be still with God. You will be very welcome!
