Saint Aidan’s Church Council – May 2020

Saint Aidan’s Church Council decided not to meet in April. We keep in contact by
means of phone and email, and we continue to share information from Presbytery and
PCANZ with the congregation. Please talk with your elder or one of the Executive
Team if we can help you in any way, or if there is something you want to ask, or to tell
Church Council.
Unfortunately, even under Level 3 we are not able to re-open our Church buildings.
However, it is great to be able to share Sunday worship services by means of Zoom.
Thank you, Colin, for facilitating this, and thank you to everybody who has been willing
to share the experience, by audio and video. We can be very grateful for technology
and what it offers us.
Right Reverend Fakaofo Kaio, our Moderator of the Presbyterian Church is also live
streaming devotions for our Church family every Sunday at 9 a.m. This will be on the
Moderator Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/modpcanz/ There is also a link
on the Church website and Facebook. The videos remain on the Moderator’s
facebook page to watch at any time, so you can see them and also attend Saint A and
Saint A services.
From PCANZ ‘Kids Friendly is changing its name and expanding its focus to include
a broader range of services. The new ministry will be known as Children and
Families: a whanau-based ministry. The Kids Friendly accreditation process and
related work that has served the church so well will continue. However, going forward
it will become just one part of a broader focus with our children and families ministry.’
I know that we will continue to welcome all children in Church, as we have done, and
we always hope to see more children worshipping with us.
Foodbank If you want to contribute to a foodbank service, you could donate to The
Foodbank Project https://www.foodbank.org.nz/ There are many other foodbank
organisations, but this way we can continue our relationship with Glenfield Salvation

Kia kaha – keep safe.
Nan, for Saint Aidan’s Church Council. (Rosemary confirms a report from St Andrews
would be pretty much a duplicate of the above. Ed)
YEAR END GIVING DONATION RECEIPTS
Everyone in St Aidans, for whom we have email addresses, will have received a donation
receipt by email. Other receipts have been sent by snail mail. If you have not received the
receipt, please contact Rosemarie. (I believe St Andrews should receive theirs soon. Ed).
For those who want/need them, envelopes for weekly giving will be available at church when
we are able to have in-person church services again.
In the meantime, you are encouraged to consider making regular electronic giving
donations. Bank account details are as follows:
St Aidans 02-0112-0024699-00
St Andrews 02-0112 0024701 00
Thank you to those who are giving online. This makes a real difference. Although we are
not meeting at church, the cost of our facilities and ministry remains.
Thanks
Rosemarie Dawson
