A small group from our Community had a shared dinner at Indique in Birkenhead prior to going to see “Harvey” at Pilgrim Productions. It was really enjoyable and we want to continue with a monthly “St Aidans Dinner Club”.
Anyone is free to join in, though we may have to limit numbers depending on the size of the venue chosen. We will advise date and time in each Informer. We anticipate that some months it will be dinner and conversation only – other months there may be a show or movie we think will appeal.
So if you are interested, let Andrea or Rosemarie know. Save the date: Saturday 18 October at 7.00pm. Numbers are limited (maximum 8 per table) so please get in early so we know whether to book one or two tables.

How to stop church gossip
Mildred, the church gossip, and self-appointed monitor of the church’s morals, kept sticking her nose into other people’s business.
Several members did not approve of her extra-curricular activities, but feared her enough to maintain their silence.
She made a mistake, however, when she accused Frank, a new member, of being an alcoholic after she saw his old pickup parked in front of the town’s only bar one afternoon..
She emphatically told Frank (and several others) that everyone seeing it there would know what he was doing!
Frank, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and just turned and walked away. He didn’t explain, defend, or deny. He simply said nothing.
Later that evening, Frank quietly parked his pickup in front of Mildred’s house, walked home… and left it there all night.
(You got to love Frank!)
