A timely Reminder
It is this time of the year again when we have to think about balancing the books in our personal affairs to consider among others tax liabilities that may arise. Members participating in St Aidans enveloped giving can expect to receive their receipts in time to include them for qualifying deductions in their annual IRD returns. Any amount received before 31 March will qualify.
Keeping you Informed
Thank you cards – You may have seen two very nice ‘Thank you’ cards on the noticeboard in the Church foyer.
Roxy’s card, to Church Council and the congregation says:
‘I can hardly express the depths of my gratitude, both to you and for you.
Thank you seems an inadequate response to the love, support and encouragement that you and the Community of Saint Aidans have given me over the last year. I am just delighted with the stole that you gave me and I look forward to wearing it in the chapel.
Be assured that I will continue to remember you in my prayers.
With love, Roxy XOX’
The second card, sent to the members of Saint Aidans Community by Cherie Wallace on behalf of Family Works North Shore (part of Presbyterian Support) says
‘Thank you for the wonderful gifts and donations to make Christmas special for families on the North Shore. We are blessed by your generosity. Kind regards, Cherie Wallace’
Special Meeting of the Congregation – Last month’s ‘Informer’ said that the special congregational meeting to hear about the seismic report on the Church building would be held on March 13th. The correct date for this meeting is March 20th.
Working Bee in Church Garden – ARK@S group is organising a Working Bee to tidy up the Church gardens. This will be held on the morning of Saturday March 19th. Please mark this date in your diaries, and watch out for further information as to how you can help. Thank you.
Services at Easter – We have been invited to share in a Maundy Thursday service with Passover meal, at Saint George’s Church, on the corner of The Terrace and Anzac Street in Takapuna, at 7pm on Thursday March 24th. More details later. This will be an exciting and worthwhile addition to our Easter services. Good Friday service at 9.30am on Friday 25th and Easter Sunday service at the usual time of 10am on Sunday 27th March will both be at St Aidans. Members of Saint George’s congregation and Mairangi Bay congregation have been invited to join us at our Good Friday service.
