Anzac Day Service
Northcote Anzac Day Service will be held on Monday 25th April 2016 at the War Memorial Hall, Rodney Road, Northcote at 10.45 a.m. The Community of Saint Aidans will be laying a wreath at this service.
Special Meeting of the Congregation
A very informative congregational meeting was held during Café Church service on Sunday March 20th. David Hansen and Alf presented a summary of the seismic report, and there was opportunity for comments and questions from the congregation. These comments and questions will now form part of the Church Council discussion to be held on April 13th, and presented to representatives of Northern Presbytery who have been invited to attend this meeting.
Anyone who wants a copy of Property Trustees policy on earthquake prone buildings can ask Alf and receive a hard copy or an email one. The engineers’ report is very lengthy, but a copy of this can also be emailed on request.
The congregation will be kept informed of all developments relating to the seismic report.
Working Bee in Church Garden
Thank you to Dalia and ARK@S group for organising the Working Bee to tidy up the Church gardens, and to all who helped in the gardens and those who provided the excellent morning tea. Everything looked very good in time for Easter.
Food provided by the congregation at our services is now taken directly to Salvation Army for their food bank, and we received a thank you letter from them in appreciation of the food we have sent. This has been put on the notice board in the foyer. The letter also tells us what items are most needed for food parcels.
Alf’s Retirement Date
Alf confirmed to Church Council that he will conclude his ministry with us on Thursday 30th June, and that his last service will be on Sunday 26th June. He has informed Northern Presbytery of this.
