Important Notices from Church Council
Services in December and January
Please note the arrangements for services during
December and January. Our Sunday services at
Saint Aidans will start at the usual time of 10 a.m.
until December 23 rd . From December 30th until
January 20 th , services will start at 9.30 a.m. whether
at Saint Aidans or Saint Lukes. Saint Lukes
Methodist Church is at 16 Greenslade Crescent,
We are delighted to welcome Rev Matt Chapman
who will be our 60% stated supply Minister initially
for the next year. Matt will start with us on January
14 th , and we look forward to him becoming part of the
Community of Saint Aidans.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed gifts to
go to children staying at de Paul House, and food,
particularly food treats, for Salvation Army foodbank.
The boxes full of goodies already look great.
Last year we discovered these were a good way to
help local children get off to a good start with their
school year. The cost of stationery for a Primary
School child is at least $50 each and some do not
have this cash in hand. Please make your
contribution in a marked envelope and Willow Park
School Northcote will use it to get a stationery pack
to some of their needy children.
Mary and Joseph
Once again, Mary and Joseph will travel from home
to home in the Community of Saint Aidans, arriving
back in Church for our Christmas Eve service. If you
would like to host the travellers, please put your
name on the list.
Thank you to the wonderful team who organised this
event, and to everyone who contributed with flowers,
food, music and your attendance at what was an
excellent afternoon of fellowship, enjoyed by all. The
amount raised has yet to be confirmed, but should
be around $2000.
Meeting of three congregations
Saint Aidans Church was well represented at this meeting,
and, although it started slowly it ended up being a positive
conversation. It was agreed that each congregation should
put forward a small group to work with the other
congregations, and Saint Aidanís Task Force will shortly
meet with groups from Saint Andrews and Zion Hill Church.
Health and Safety
Our Health and Safety Team have to produce an annual health and
safety hazard identification review. If you are aware of anything that
you think might be a health and safety hazard, please talk to Rachel
Hurr, John Railton or anyone on Church Council. Thank you.
Christian World Service
For the past few years, members of the congregation
have donated to CWS Christmas Appeal. Donation
envelopes for this year will be available during
December, and you are welcome to make an
individual donation, or through your Church offering.
