Greetings to all.
Edith. What a busy December we had and how nice to have Mary and
Joseph back with us during Advent.
January saw my grandson Baxter (18) off to Queenstown to start his
2-year training in the “Adventure Tours and Management” course. He
says it is full on and he is enjoying it . Grand daughter Grace
celebrated her 21st while camping at Russell.
Back in Auckland I had fun with family discovering ‘roof top’ bars
downtown – great place to watch cruise ships departing. Another
world for Grandma…….
A visit to Tauranga with old friends was a chance to see Connie who
had her sister and husband visiting from Korea. She looked well and
sent greetings to all at St. Aidan’s. She is enjoying her church and her
golf is improving!!
ANNIVERSARY DAY at the Viaduct was up to expectations – a beautiful
day, cruise ship ‘Viking Sun’ in; hundreds of paddlers racing their
dragon boats in the viaduct harbour;, the tugboat race and antics at
the end to entertain us all, followed by the start of the classic A-class
keeler race close by Queen’s wharf! The warship sailed with its
luncheon guests out into the harbour and Westpac helicopter
performed a demonstration rescue for us right there.
A spectacular day – buskers entertaining the large crowd and visitors
from Scandinavia enjoying the market at the Cloud.
A great start to the year – hopefully lots more swims – perhaps a little
cooler so that everyone can enjoy it.
