As we enter into September, we enter into the season of
spring. In a very real sense, you can see that people have a
ďspringĒ in their step. There is more energy; more life and
vitality. We remember that life does indeed return. We
celebrate that we made it through another cold, damp
In a funny way, I am looking forward to getting the home and
yard ready for Summer. There is something therapeutic
about it all. Within our church calendar, I am looking forward
to the Floral Affair later in the year, and our next Three
Churches Combined Service, where we will be celebrating
all creatures great and small, and remembering our call to
care for them.
As you spring clean your home, sow seed in your garden,
and water blast the outdoor furniture, ask yourself, ďWhat
new thing might God be wanting to do in my life?Ē What
things within myself need cleaning, restoring, nurturing?
What things need reminding that they are sacred and have
May this be for you a season of new possibilities.
May God awaken within you something new.
May your soul be dusted off, refreshed and and renewed.
May you walk with a renewed sense of purpose, hope and
May you remember that death is never the last word,
because the last word always belongs to God.
And because it is Godís word, it will be good.
