Garden Working Bee
The previous Working Bee was a great success and we are
having another one. Please join us on Saturday 5th
October from 1 p.m. All help would be greatly valued.
Floral Affair
Tickets are on sale for this wonderful annual event, this year
to be held on Saturday 19th October. Ask any of the elders
or Dale (418 3793) for tickets. We hope that you will attend
yourself, invite family and friends and sell tickets – and
contributions for afternoon tea will be very much welcomed
and appreciated. Thank you.
AGM
Saint Aidan’s Church AGM will be held on Sunday 20th
October at the end of a shortened Café Church service.
AGM booklet with reports for the past year will be available
from Sunday 6th October. Please collect one per family, read
it, and bring it to AGM on Sunday 20 th .
Property maintenance and safety improvements
You may be aware of the many repairs and improvements
that quietly happen around the Church buildings, thanks to
the Property Team, and particularly to David Hansen.
Recently we have had newer, quieter heaters installed,
broken lampshades replaced, smoke alarms installed, a
board over the attic stairs to prevent small children climbing
up them, as well as ongoing repairs to doors, window
frames, tables … And of course we have our newly painted
ceiling in Church. Our sincere thanks to David and
others involved.
Three Churches working Group
Another successful Combined Service was held on Sunday
29th September and it was good to share this service with a
number of well-behaved animals, as well as with our friends
from the neighbouring churches. In the AGM booklet you
will find the current proposals recommended by the Three
Churches Working Group. Please read these. Church
Council is looking at them, and there will be a special
congregational meeting for the congregation to consider and
discuss them further.
Christmas Services with Saint Lukes
We will join with Saint Luke’s Methodist Church as usual
over the summer period. Christmas Eve service will be at
Saint Lukes, and Christmas Day service at Saint Aidans.
After that, services will be held at each church on alternate
Sundays, starting at Saint Lukes on Sunday 29th December
