St Aidans Community celebrated the recent
Christmas season with gifts for others in both our
local and our wider community. We’re happy to
make the following report to you.
First the boxes of presents under the Christmas tree
collected for the 54 children resident at de Paul
House were taken across in mid- December along
with wrapping paper so they could be given to the
parents to wrap and distribute on Christmas Day.
The staff sent a big thank you for our efforts.
Second the Christmas treat food was delivered to
the Glenfield Road Salvation Army depot for
distribution from there.
Third we were thrilled to have an offering of $580
on 21 January to go for stationery vouchers. This
was for children whose families would have trouble
getting the money together at the start of school.
(You recall the current cost is around $60 per child
right at the beginning of the school year). Again this
was delivered across the road to de Paul House so
their social workers could liaise with the local
schools to get the right vouchers for them.
Fourth we had a Christmas cash offering for the
Christian World Service work of $345, plus
envelopes. With CWS we want all people to have
food, water, dignity, justice and lives free from
The staff at de Paul House were happy to think St
Aidans is interested in what is going on over there
and we have an invitation if any members of the
congregation would like a conducted tour.

that.Put your name and convenient time on the list
