Jokes that can be told in Church – October 2014

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds.
After explaining the commandment to ‘Honour thy
father and thy mother,’ she asked,
‘Is there a commandment that teaches us how to
treat our brothers and sisters?’
Without missing a beat, one little boy answered,
‘Thou shall not kill.’

News from France – October 2014

(Apologies – this didn’t make it to the September issue)

We’ve been living in the Chateau itself for a week now and things are great! The weather has settled from being cool and rainy to being very warm. We’ve been enjoying eating dinner on the lawn at the edge of the battlements looking at the magnificent view, swimming in the pool cared for by a newly instructed pool manager i.e. RWW, and getting out to explore some of the local countryside. We have some very friendly expat English neighbours and the French folks who do various jobs around the place have been welcoming and very willing to try and interpret our attempts at French. Have even managed to work out the timetable for the daily bread truck that comes through the villages.

The building is about 6 times the size of our house with many thousands of lovely ecological niches for spiders etc. so the care and maintenance aspect is something to take into account.

We are looking forward to some visitors in September.

The best way to contact us is on email since we have had a little trouble with phones. Hope all is well at your end.

Barbara and Rinny
